So you're wondering about Sampson Industrial? If you'd like to know more about us, we'd be happy to share! Here's our history in a nutshell!
It was 1976 in Montreal, Quebec that a gentleman by the name of George Sampson founded a small company called "Service et Reparation de Bureau George Sampson Ltee" - in English, "George Sampson Office Services and Repairs Ltd."
After nearly 10 years of building up his business, Mr. Sampson was ready to retire and in 1985, Mike Ouellet, a hardworking young man in his 20s, bought the company.
As the new owner and President of Sampson, Mike Ouellet soon won the confidence of his clients and, by word of mouth, new potential clients heard about Sampson. Before long he began receiving requests for his services, not only in offices, but in shops and warehouses as well. The demands for industrial pallet racking and other material handling and warehouse needs continued to grow and eventually became his focus as his clientele grew to include large, international companies.
In 2001, with his company office and shop still located in Île-Perrot, Quebec, Mike and his family moved just over the border into rural Eastern Ontario. A few short years later, Sampson Industrial started to feel the tremors of the financial crisis that was beginning to reveal itself.
No business person can forget this time of financial upheaval which created serious leaks in the collective economic bucket. Mike Ouellet pressed on through the harsh challenges of the rough global economic climate. Sampson Industrial, like so many other companies, lost many valuable clients in its devastating wake.
In 2007, to reduce the overhead, he moved his shop just over the border into Ontario where he was living, but kept a physical address in Île-Perrot, keeping it a Quebec company. This had it's benefits, being centrally located between Montreal and Ottawa.
From years of experience, Mike Ouellet continues to lead Sampson Industrial with knowledge, skill and integrity, serving clients in a circumference around Montreal, Quebec, and in Ottawa, Brockville, Kingston, Ontario and beyond. Being fluently bi-lingual is an asset, as he serves his clients in both French and English.
Mike Ouellet is also a family man. He and his wife have been married for over 30 years, and have two adult children and a grandson.
Mike and his wife lead a ministry which focuses on older young adults, several of whom have become an ongoing part of their lives and family.
Living on a hobby farm in lovely rural area of Eastern Ontario, the Ouellets enjoy the peaceful quietness of country life. They have a small farm where they and their daughter raise, train, and rescue miniature horses. They also have a couple of Dexters, a heritage breed of miniature cow. They enjoy sharing their farm animals with others. Occasionally they involve the little horses in visitations and in unofficial 'therapeutic' types of equine assisted activities at their farm as well. And last but not least, Buddy, their sweet dog is loved by all.
"Your smile is your logo.
Your personality is your business card.
How you leave others feeling after an
experience with you becomes
your trademark."
Motivational speaker, J. Danzie
The quote above fitly describes Mike Ouellet, a man committed to excellence in service and products, who cares about his clients and continues to run his company conscientiously and with integrity.
